🐶 Ingredients:
- 1 cup dried lentils (red or green)
- ½ cup quinoa, rinsed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or coconut oil
- 2 carrots, grated or chopped
- 1 zucchini, grated
- ½ cup green peas
- ½ cup pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)
- 4 cups low-sodium vegetable broth or water
🍳 Instructions:
- Cook the Lentils and Quinoa:
- In a large pot, bring the lentils, quinoa, and broth (or water) to a boil.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for about 20 minutes, until tender.
- Sauté the Vegetables (Optional):
- In a separate pan, heat oil over medium heat.
- Sauté the carrots, zucchini, and peas for 5–7 minutes, until softened. (Or you can add them directly into the pot with the lentils.)
- Combine and Cook:
- Add the cooked or raw vegetables to the pot with lentils and quinoa.
- Stir in pumpkin puree and parsley.
- Simmer for another 5 minutes to blend flavors.
- Cool & Serve:
- Let the food cool completely before serving it to your dog.
