Vegetarian Lentil & Quinoa Dog Food Recipe

🐶 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dried lentils (red or green)
  • ½ cup quinoa, rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or coconut oil
  • 2 carrots, grated or chopped
  • 1 zucchini, grated
  • ½ cup green peas
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)
  • 4 cups low-sodium vegetable broth or water

🍳 Instructions:

  1. Cook the Lentils and Quinoa:
    • In a large pot, bring the lentils, quinoa, and broth (or water) to a boil.
    • Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for about 20 minutes, until tender.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables (Optional):
    • In a separate pan, heat oil over medium heat.
    • Sauté the carrots, zucchini, and peas for 5–7 minutes, until softened. (Or you can add them directly into the pot with the lentils.)
  3. Combine and Cook:
    • Add the cooked or raw vegetables to the pot with lentils and quinoa.
    • Stir in pumpkin puree and parsley.
    • Simmer for another 5 minutes to blend flavors.
  4. Cool & Serve:
    • Let the food cool completely before serving it to your dog.

  • Freeze individual servings for up to 2 months.
