Peanut Butter & Banana Dog Treats

Makes: ~24 small treats
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 15–20 minutes

🐶 Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana (mashed)
  • ½ cup natural peanut butter (unsweetened, xylitol-free)
  • 1 ½ cups oat flour (or ground rolled oats)
  • 1 egg

Make sure your peanut butter does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.

🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, mash the banana.
    • Add peanut butter and egg; mix until smooth.
    • Gradually stir in oat flour until a dough forms.
  3. Shape the Treats:
    • Roll the dough out to about ¼-inch thick on a floured surface.
    • Use a cookie cutter (bone shapes are fun!) or cut into small squares with a knife.
  4. Bake:
    • Place the treats on the baking sheet.
    • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and slightly firm.
  5. Cool & Store:
    • Let treats cool completely before serving.
    • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

Why It’s Great:

  • Bananas provide potassium and natural sweetness.
  • Peanut butter is a protein-rich favorite for most dogs.
  • Oats are gentle on the stomach and a great grain alternative for sensitive pups.
