Salmon & Rice with Greens for cats

Ingredients:

  • 1 can salmon in water (boneless, skinless, no salt) OR 1 fresh salmon fillet (cooked and flaked)
  • ½ cup cooked white rice (plain, no salt)
  • ¼ cup steamed spinach or kale (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or salmon oil
  • Optional: 1/8 teaspoon taurine supplement (essential for cats)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Salmon:
    • If using fresh salmon, bake or poach until fully cooked, then flake.
    • If using canned, drain thoroughly and mash with a fork.
  2. Prepare the Mix:
    • In a bowl, combine salmon, rice, greens, and oil.
    • Add taurine if using (especially important if cooking from scratch).
  3. Cool and Serve:
    • Ensure the food is room temperature.
    • Feed ~¼ to ½ cup per meal based on your cat’s size and activity level.
